It is very slow typing in Chinese, slow until I cannot tahan! Not
because I'm not good in Han Yu Pin Yin, but the it makes the computer
very slow.
By the way, I wanna write about Cromwell today. It's LOVELY to visit this small town.
After
the school yesterday in Gore, we drove to Cromwell, around 3 hours
drive? I can't remember, we arrived at around 5.30pm, spent more than
an hour looking for accommodation. At the beginning we thought we would
spend a night in the holiday park, but a cabin offered was $85, so we
decided to find a motel, we were pretty sure that we could find a motel
at this price.
Drove to an old motel, the owner offered $95
a night, I didn't want to stay there, that's too expensive, and the
room did not worth that much to me. Drove out of town a bit, want to
find another backpacker, but didn't see anything. Thought of staying in
B&B with the family, couldn't find, but saw Venus, Mars and Mercury
in the sky, and Jupiter was close by the moon. It was getting dark,
easy to spot Venus, Mars and Mercury, but you only have about an hour
to see them, because they are quite low in the sky, and then they go
lower and lower and you can't see them anymore.
Anyway, we were
happy to go back to town to check out a few other motels. We came to
one, $98 a night, brand new room, king-sized bed (Martin was very happy
about it, because I take up a quarter of a queen-sized bed during the
night), nice clean kitchenette and shower, LCD tv and DVD. I think the
lady in the 1st motel we went was trying to rip us off, if she offered
$80, we would take it, good she didn't.
The owners of the motel
we stayed were an old couple, nice people, gave us 2 ginger chocolate
muffins thought we would be hungry.
Martin was very tired after
the school and driving, so not very fun to play with. I cooked our
dinner, Korean noodles with hard boiled eggs (my favourite!) and pak
choy.
This morning, after a good sleep, we were sad to leave this comfortable room.
Went
to a primary school, 2 presentations, teachers and students were very
nice, they liked Martin's presentation. And one of the girls came up to
me and told me that my hair was very long! And said that she didn't
like short hair. And then one of the boys asked me if me and Martin
stay together... what was he thinking?? Maybe he liked me....
waaaaaaaaaaaa!! hahaha!
After
the school, we went to Old Cromwell, just a historical thing, old
shops, old houses, nice place, and the weather was not so cold.
And then we left Cromwell, stopped on the way to get pies, sandwich, chocolate slice, and Martin's energy drink -- COFFEE.
I
actually wanna write my blog in traditional Chinese Characters, so Yuko
and Etsuko will understand, but I don't know how it works on this
computer, so that's okay.
We passed by Gore again, didn't stop,
drove another half an hour to come to Invercargill. So I'm in
INVERCARGILL now, staying in a backpacker, not many people staying
here. Only one double room and it's not available, so we stay in a
dorm, only me and Martin and a guy in this backpacker, the guy stays in
another dorm. We paid $24 each for the 4 beds dorm, but it seems like
only both of us staying tonight.
Tonight's dinner was canned
soup and raviolis. I don't like the raviolis purchased from tne
supermarket, tastes yucky. I prefer farmers' market's.
Gotta
stop now, very happy sending texts with Sarah yesterday. She will go to
Taipei again on this Sunday. Said we'd be at Changi Airport at the same
day and go home together.
Tomorrow
after the school in Invercargill, we will drive up North, but dunno
which way to go yet. Hopefully it will be a pleasant drive. No chance
to meet Philosophy in Lake Tekapo, we were thinking of driving up that
way...
Goodnight~
